I to be taught that when civilization sneeze, you"re an alleged to speak "yi bai sui" (one century old) and if they sneeze again, you to speak "liang bai sui"... And also so on. I"m not sure where this heritage came from but I"m assuming it"s to great the human being who sneeze an excellent health (and come live for hundreds of years). However, to my disappointment, i haven"t found an additional Chinese human being who methods this legacy until my expedition to Beijing critical summer. I remained in the subway and also this old lady sneezed and before I can say anything, this quite girl stated with her sweet voice "yi bai sui". Obviously my household isn"t the just one who techniques this tradition.

I"ve heard "yi bai sui" now and then in Beijing, so it does happen. I"ll start counting the ratio of sneezes to "yi bai sui"s.

Has anyone rather heard of or exercise this tradition?

People in China have various responses to someone that sneeze. That is the an initial time I"ve heard about "Yi Bai Sui". What I generally know room two expressions--Either "You ren xiang ni le-- part one is absent you" or "You ren zai ma ni-- part one is cursing/ swearing at you". I favor the very first one since it is rather sweet. ;-)

There are additionally some other similar practice. For example, when world ask you: "Ni ganggang erduo yang ma?-- Did your ear itch just now?" they actually mean: "Some one were lacking you simply now."

If one autumn chopsticks to the floor, civilization will say: "Ni jia girlfriend keren ya lai-- part one will visit friend soon".

If you were choked during dinner, they will say:"Ni shuo cuo hua le---You"ve said something wrong."
